From its foundation, Instituto Argentino de Diagnóstico y Tratamiento led to a radical change within the field of medicine. On May 16th. 1926, a group of renowned professionals joined to lay the foundations of a new healthcare institution, which would fuse the knowledge of family physicians with the most advanced diagnostic techniques.

Now, in the 21st. century, we may well state that along all these years, we have always intended to observe the legacy of our founding principles of assuring precision of Diagnosis and the specificity of Treatment for each medical disease.

In the light of modern times, Instituto Argentino de Diagnóstico y Tratamiento, reconfirms once again its commitment to go on accompanying progress within the scope of medicine, that when practiced honestly and conscientiously, results to be one of the most beneficial and noble professions.

The surgery centre, both for inpatient and outpatient surgeries, is composed of seven operating-rooms having lead lined walls, as a way to provide for future technological needs. Furthermore, one of the operating-rooms is equipped with a laminar air flow system, for those surgeries demanding extreme isolation conditions, reducing airborne contaminants at the operating table, and therefore significantly lowering the risk of infection and contamination during surgery.

Another important feature to point out, is the sophisticated cardiovascular monitoring centre, equipped with a state-of-the-art informatic system, that gathers all pertinent data for a precise cardiological control of the patient during surgery.

Likewise, aiming to carry out telemedicine transmissions, all areas of our surgery centre are computer-linked, including operating rooms and doctors´ lounge. Video cameras have been installed, not only to record but also to broadcast live medical operations to the conference room or the doctors´ lounge, which proves to be of great importance to carry out training activities and lectures. So as to achieve the optimum safety conditions level, our Infectology Committee keeps and exhaustive and continuous control of the surgery centre, specifically by means of the bacteriological control of operating rooms and the obstetric area, the detection and follow-up of surgical infections and the determination of the nosocomial infections rate.
